Creative Brief:
A vintage photo of neon-draped Fremont Street was the inspiration for this box set key art, representing the Las Vegas band’s storied career. Their ask, what if the signs were our album names?, set my challenge of creating a photo-illustration worthy of a double-take. Achieving it took strategic photo research, meticulous re-drawing of vintage sign typography, keen attention to every production detail and finish; and, most importantly, assembling a creative team that went above and beyond to help make it real. The final touch is a glow-in-the-dark coating that lights up the signs, which translates with great effect in the animation for the release. Posted to the band’s socials upon launch, the artwork struck a chord with fans, generating excitement and product pre-sales.
